As per the latest reports, iPhone will measure 3.5-inch diagonally and the 4-inch display indicates that iPhone 5 will have a 30 percent increase in screen-size. Market analysts say that market trend of bigger displays has incited Apple who has always been pitted against its Android rival, the Samsung Galaxy S III which has a 4.8-inch display.
Connector
Tech giant Apple will include a smaller connector in its upcoming device iPhone 5, rendering current accessories potentially obsolete, according to a report.
According to sources, the iPhone 5 will come with a 19-pin connector port at the bottom instead of the proprietary 30-pin port ‘to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom’.
This means the new phone would not connect with the myriad of accessories such as speakers and power chargers that form part of the ecosystem around iPods, iPads and iPhones, without an adaptor, as per The Telegraph reports.
Processor and operating system
It is also widely expected that Apple iPhone 5 will be released with iOS 6. Apple may also club it with iCloud and Facebook integration. On the processor line, we could see Apple using a quad-core processor in iPhone 5.
But as per latest reports, the upcoming Apple iPhone 5 will sport the same A5X dual-core processor as the current new iPad 3.
Hard Glasses
As per latest reports, Apple’s iPhone 5 will concentrate upon overall durability. Reports have it that iPhone 5 will ship with Gorilla Glass 2.
Launch Date
Apple's iPhone launches are among the biggest affairs on Silicon Valley's calendar, scrutinized by technology investors, enthusiasts and consumers alike.
Multiple reports speculated the release date of the phone to be somewhere around September or October this year. A mobile blog even claimed the date as August 7.
Later, Technology blog iMore first reported the debut of the new iPhone at a September 12 event earlier. But as per latest reports, the September 12 date may also shift.
