Get Real with the iPhone 4S

I love me a wild iPhone concept as much as the next fanboy, but few challenge the true, obvious setbacks of the current devices. Designer Enrico Penello’s iPhone 4S concept tackles some of the existing flaws of the 4th generation phone with some very simple solutions and a few extras. The fixes: a lightly textured plastic back case for better grip,  a removable battery for easy replacement, and a fixed lower cover for the WiFi antenna. The extras: iOs5, 8 megapixel camera, and a faster A5 processor.

iPhone Laser

Tangram’s Smart Dot, set to be released this month, is a genius little device that acts as both a stylus and a laser pointer. Simply plug the small pointer component into the 3.5mm audio jack on your iPhone and download the free app to start using the laser pointer! The “appcessory” will also sync wirelessly with your computer and let you use your iPhone as a trackpad to effortlessly navigate through presentations. Pure genius!

iPhone LiquidMetal Orgasm

I love Antoine Brieux’s enthusiasm and his perception of the next-gen iPhone. Rumors about the use of LiquidMetal’s alloy and how durable yet liquid the overall experience will be, has got me excited (what can I say…. I’m a fangirl!). For the moment this iPhone 5 LM Concept fills the gap, with its virtual ‘Home Button’ replacing the physical one. Utopian specs whet our appetite while Jony Ive and his team keep the real deal under wraps.

Uber-Functional iPhone Case

’m sure you’ve picked up on the trend of iPhone cases that do more than just protect the device- we’ve seen designs with kickstands and others with compartments for headphones. Finally, here’s one that has both! The Ö Case features a multifunctional component that stores ear-buds and also doubles as a stand to prop up the device. It’s still compact enough that the user won’t notice a difference in size.

Forget iPhone 5, It’s Time For iPhone 6!

If you are still dealing with conceptual iPhone 5 phones, then I reckon you are late in the game. The stakes have moved up to the iPhone 6, a concept where the home button is moved to the left side of the phone (used with the thumb), leaving a huge screen space for one to enjoy. In this mockup, Antoine uses ergonomic grip quite cleverly and formulates it with dimensions 125 mm x 63 mm with a 4.9-inch screen. For a first round of concepts, it looks interesting enough, what do you think?
